SSD-XML exam details and procedure tomorrow
Dear participants,
just to summarize the concrete plan for the exam tomorrow (21.8.,
official starting time 10:00):
The place is the e-exams room 1.116 in the MZG "Mehrzweckgebäude",
known as "Blauer Turm/Blue Tower" in the northeastern corner of the
central campus.
You find the official rules about the E-exam process on the lecture's
Web page at
(see the
entry from July 13th).
We will write in room 1.116, which is on the first floor: use the big,
open stairs in the entrance hall, NOT the narrow bad-air staircase
inside the "Blue Tower" to get to the waiting zone on level 1. These
stairs are shown on
on page 1 as "Aufgang zum Prüfungsraum".
The waiting zone is then shown on page 2, as there are only 18
participants, all waiting places (you receive the waiting place+seat
number by another Mail via FlexNow) will probably already be in the
"Blue tower" building. On page 3 you see the architecture of the room
that we will use; pages 4-6 are other rooms on levels 5-7.
We will call/let the people in in order of the waiting places from
9:50 on; there are only 18 participants, so there is no reason to
hurry.
You should not wait inside there much earlier (so long, stay outside
in the morning summer sun). Inside you should wear a mask, which -as
far as I know- you can turn off when reaching your seat.
When entering the exams room one after the other, there is a short
identity check (have your student card available), after that go to
your place.
You will find there a printed pdf of the exam and probably another
organisatory sheet. Let it remain closed until all are in and we tell
you. Also, log in to the system only when we tell you all to do so.
The same pdf will be in your directory, together with frames for
exam.xml, exam.dtd (empty), exam.xsl. Then you can read it on the
screen or beneath it. You can write your own comments there, an take
it with you afterwards, the sheets it will (except we have
unexpectedly to change something in the process) not be collected and
graded. The same text will also be given in the questions in the
ILIAS system.
Then, first, I will read through the whole exam, in case there are
some immediate questions. After that, the official writing time of 90
minutes begins. Depending on the situation and the time, this might be
extended a little bit. During the exam we will not walk around, but
there is some chat+screen sharing functionality (which I do not yet
know in details). We will experiment with this functionality.
The points sum will be 100 points, as ILIAS handles that better.
Don't ask me now, how the grading will be done (do I print the exams
or will I do that online ... then I cannot put comments in the
answers), and when/how you will receive the results, and how insight
into the results/comments will be organized. ILIAS has some such
functionality (but as far as I understand, this would require to do it
there in the exams room again). We'll see this later.
In case there are short questions before, use the RocketChat:dbis,
send me a mail, or: I will probably arrive at about 9:20 in the inner
yard, wait for Lars+Sebastian, and we will go up at 9:30.
